FALL ARTS FEST
On October 11, I directed and coordinated the 2019 Fall Arts Festival along with a team of students. The day long event brought together artists of all kinds to celebrate and contemplate the practice of art. The theme of the festival, “Let There Be…”, was an invitation to create and to imagine new possibilities for artists across a wide range of practices. Workshops were held on a variety of topics ranging from letterpress, turning your art into a business , and meditation through art. Workshop hosts included Grand Rapids locals, Ryan Roff CEO and co-owner of BoldSOCKS, Gracie Fenech co-owner of Freshly Squeezed Print Shop, and student artist James Andrew Gilbert. Canadian artist, Meredith Park, also held an illustration workshop and was the Festival’s keynote speaker. Photography for the event was provided by Adrian Van Stee.
